We received an email straight from the heart of Music City, U.S.A. Jonathan Martz of Nashville, Tennessee hosted the ultimate Portillo’s party to introduce his local friends to our iconic brand.
Complete with Chicago-style hot dogs, autographed photos, Portillo’s apparel and a sign alerting friends there is “absolutely no ketchup,” you could say it was a successful event! We even heard Patrick had a microphone to share his best order ready rhymes.
Read more below about some of his favorite Portillo’s memories and what he loves most about our restaurant.
- What are your ties to Portillo’s? Or how were you first introduced to the brand? I grew up in the Chicagoland area, so I’ve had a strong love affair with Portillo’s since I was a kid.
- What’s your favorite Portillo’s menu item? Combo, dipped. I’d also like to give a special shout out to Portillo’s burgers – they are very underrated!
- Sweet or hot peppers? ….neither…. 😬 *ducks*
- If you could ask Dick Portillo one question, what would it be? When will you be opening a Portillo’s in Nashville?
- How do you describe your Portillo’s experience? Portillo’s is like a mythical utopia in my world. Every time I’m back home, it’s my first stop. From the decor to the food to the friends I share my meal with, Portillo’s never disappoints. Everyone knows my one true love in life is Portillo’s and that’s the way I like it.
- What do you love most about Portillo’s? There’re so many great things, but it all comes down to how delicious the food is.
- If you could add anything to the menu, what would it be? The menu is perfect as it is. Hot dogs, beef, sausage, burgers, chicken, fries and shakes. What more do you need?
- If you worked at Portillo's, what station would you choose? Definitely the person who calls out order numbers.
- What's your best Portillo's order calling rhyme? “Number 17, this is not a dream. Your Portillo’s is ready."
