PORTILLO’S ANNOUNCES NEW RESTAURANT IN ST. PETERSBURG, FL

The Chicago-style restaurant is now hiring leadership as it heads to the west side of Tampa Bay.

 

Oak Brook, Ill.Portillo’s, the fast-casual restaurant concept known for its menu of Chicago-style favorites, is excited to announce its upcoming restaurant in St. Petersburg, FL. This marks the fourth restaurant in the state for Portillo’s.

The new Portillo’s restaurant will be located in front of Tyrone Square Mall, serving the southern portion of Pinellas County. Situated at the corner of 66th St. N. and Tyrone Blvd, this high-traffic location will bring Portillo’s delicious food and fun atmosphere to the retail epicenter of the southern half of the county.

“Ever since we opened in Tampa, we’ve gotten requests from guests to come to St. Pete,” said Michael Osanloo, CEO of Portillo’s. “Guests have been coming to Portillo’s for our craveable food for years, and now we’re coming to them.”

Guests can expect to enjoy Portillo’s signature menu items like Chicago-Style Hot Dogs, Famous Italian Beef Sandwiches, Char-Grilled Burgers and Portillo’s Famous Chocolate Cake.

Portillo’s is now hiring managers and shift leaders for the St. Petersburg restaurant; hiring for other Team Members will begin soon. The 7,800-square-foot restaurant is expected to open in the first half of 2022. It will feature seating for more than 190 guests, a seasonal outdoor patio with seating for 50, and double drive-thru lanes. Once complete, it will include a diner-themed interior, drawing inspiration from the 1950s and 1960s.
