Italian Beef Sandwich Kit (Serves 8-10)

3 stars because gravy is in 2 packs but beef is in one package(used to be shipped in 2 packages). Disappointing because all beef has to be defrosted at once. As a single, I can’t use it all at one time, causing waste. Also please consider allowing purchase of beef and gravy alone instead of as a sandwich package. Peppers and bread could be sold ala carte.

Very disappointed changed beef packaging. This was a gift but we will tell them don’t send again.

Husband is from Chicago. It has been a tradition the last few years to order tortillas for a celebration the last few years. We are empty testers. Althought pricey, we justified the cost because it provided 4 meals for us. Until this year...what a disappointment.. all the meat was in one package. No longer able to put some away and forced to eat it for a week straight. Unless packaging returns to what it was.. you lost a customer

I was very happy. We ordered it for the superbowl. The order came in 2 days as promised. There was a minor issue , but it was handled within a day to my complete satisfaction. Will definitely order again.

I love me some Portillo’s

My sister loved her birthday gift of Portillo's beef sandwiches and a heart shaped chocolate cake. She is crazy about Portillo's!

Package arrived fine however. As it is just from my wife and I it would be nice if you packaged the beef in TWO packages and not one. The gravy comes in TWO. The bread i can separate with no problem. Not everyone is going to make all eight at once. Yes we all love beef but how about a little help. The bread is mini not like the packages I received before but I can deal with that problem. The package of beef is frozen so hard to cut in half. Better is it is put into two package.s Am sure I am not the only person who feels this way.

I've ordered your Italian beef kits for a couple of decades. I started in 2005 getting them shipped to Fairbanks, AK then to Union, WA from 2009-2022. I moved to Colorado to be closer to family but, that said I put up with the change from the gravy bucket to the bags. I put up with the change from 1lb bags of the meat to one big bag. I draw the line at the small 4" rolls. Screw you guys I will never order your kits ever again. I've changed to Vienna Italian beef kits. Goodbye, Greg

The only negative comment I have is that I thought the "Gravy" could use more seasoning - like Italian seasonings: oregano, thyme, etc. Otherwise, everything else was great. The beef was lean and sliced nicely thin, the buns were the perfect size and the Giardinera was a welcome addition. Maybe instead make it the the "Mild" version though - the "Hot" was a little too hot for some people's taste. I would definitely order this again though. It was my 2nd time ordering this kit.

I don’t like the one block of beef pack you have switched to. If you want to serve 4 Sammie’s then you have an open pack of beef. The size of the buns, what’s with that? My family members and I have been ordering and shipping Italian Beef from you folks for a very long time and I finally thought I should tell you I’m not thrilled with the changes.

A taste of home. How else can you celebrate the every day blessings with your favorite people? Plenty of beef and au jus for bread. We didn’t load up rolls so more than 8-10 sandwiches. Quick shipping and on-time delivery make it a great experience.

I have been a Portillo fan for a long time, shipped Portillo’s to many places… VERY disappointed in the bun size change.

outstanding as usual - sad 'da Bears didn't make the big game ... somewhat disappointed that the Beef & Sausage Kit wasn't available for delivery - but I made do with store bought sausage :)

The gravy bag leaked all over everything

The sandwiches are still good BUT we MUCH prefer the old buns (NOT 16 small ones) and for the beef to be in TWO packages--NOT ONE BIG one we have to separate still frozen.

We purchased/shipped a Beef Sandwich Kit to our son for his 22nd birthday. The order was placed weeks in advance. We were then told the day prior to the delivery date that the shipment would be delayed due to Fed Ex and weather delays. I ship items for my business and the Fed Ex delays happened the week prior and not the week of the shipment. When I asked for an explanation, Portillo's put the blame on Fed Ex and did not take any responsibility for the delay. When the items were delivered, the gravy opened up and spilled inside the box and on the bread. For the amount of money I spent on this purchase and shipping costs, I would have expected more from Portillo's. Very poor execution from Portillo's with no apology that they were at fault.

Just amazing to have Italian beef show up for our Super Bowl party. Great prep instructions, packaged to perfection. I may have to add it to an auto order every month!! It is that good!

Brought back delicious memories. Portillo’s was a staple when we lived in the western burbs of Chicago. Highly recommend.

Love Portillo’s and the food. Ordered this and dogs got Super Bowl. Supposed to arrive the Friday before the game and did not arrive until Monday after the game. Having Portillo’s has been a SB tradition. Quite disappointed they did not arrive as stated.

We have ordered Portillo's a few different times over the years. It had been a couple of years since our last order. The biggest change I noticed were the smaller rolls (but seem to be the same amount of bread), packing the meet all together (which I didn't like because it meant you had to use it all at once!), and the au jus sauce came in plastic vs the tubs (which I felt was a smarter move). During our shipment the peppers leaked out EVERYWHERE, making me have to wipe down everything before I could put it away. Overall, the sandwiches were delicious as always but the packaging could use some improvements.

Just like I remember it when I lived in Chicago.

My son lives out of state and misses Portillo’s products. On birthdays I order the Italian beef package and have it shipped. It’s easy, convenient and delicious.

I’m so embarrassed on the finger buns. We are not 2 years old. We have guest coming over this weekend that never experienced a beef and we have finger food. Are these left over from the Super Bowl? It doesn’t say on the website 12 years old and younger. Really? Also disappointed in beef packaging. Please go back to 2 packages. Was a loyal customer for 40 years
