Italian Beef Sandwich Kit (Serves 8-10)

Everything was different. The bread small and different. Meat in one bulk instead of two for out of town-era to save half. And one of my gravies was opened. You offered me a gift card which I never received.

Disappointed that the way it arrives now, you have to cook entire order. In the past, we could cook 1/2 at a time and that worked good for my wife and I. I would not order again, unless we had that option. A few other problems with this order, it arrive 3 days late due to FedEx not Portillos shipping. I applied for refund, but it took 4 e-mails until refund showed up. Then, I was told I'd get a gift card for my trouble via e-mail, still haven't received that.

Although the shipper couldn't get it delivered as promised, Portillo's reshipped my order at no cost. Chicagoans love Portillo's regardless of where they live.?? It's the perfect gift for KY friends and family.

I received my order on Dec 12th, and put it in my freezer. Christmas Eve I had company over and we were all looking forward to having Portillos but when I opened everything up there was no BEEF. I received the bread, peppers and 2 packages of gravy. A little disappointed because I had to order pizza for everyone since we could not eat gravy sandwiches.

We used to enjoy Portillos Italian Beef and ordered it several times each year. We were disappointed with our recent order because the company continues to make it less convenient and user friendly for its customers. The beef used to come in two - 1 pound packages, making it easy to thaw and enjoy 1 package now and safe the other frozen package for later. Not it comes in one - 2 pound package, requiring that all of it be thawed at the same time. The beef juice used to come in two plastic tubs of juice. The tubs were easy to store and use. Now the juice comes in two plastic bags, making it less user friendly.. The Italian bread used to come in two packages, with each holding 4 normal sandwich length buns. Now it comes in two packages, with each containing 8 half size buns, making it impossible to have a full size sandwich. The beef juice used to have a wonderful garlicky flavor. Now it's just plain beef juice with almost no flavor. Customer satisfaction no longer matters!

Really terrific, very pleasantly surprised at how excellent this was. I do have to say though, that a 2.5 pound block of frozen beef slices is inappropriate. Gravy is split into two bags, how about dividing the beef? Heating up leftovers is not the way this should go. Thanks.

Portillos has been a family tradition since 1966 When we moved from NJ to IL and a birthday tradition since our son graduated college or whenever you started your deliveries out of IL. I live in WI now, Madison. I have a Portillos about 10 minutes from me. More family to share with and continued the birthday tradition this past December 14th. WE LOVE PORTILLOS.

I was very disappointed. As a native Chicagoan transplanted to Florida where Italian beef doesn't exist, I will order Portillo's for a taste of home. What a disappointment this time. I'm not sure I'd do it again. The beef was nasty, dry, and mealy. Did not even taste like the Italian beef I love so well. I bought this to serve to our church for their Christmas party, sharing a taste of my hometown with them. They were putting catsup, BBQ sauce and Mayo on it because it was so bad, I wasted my money and won't do this again. It wasn't anything like what I've ordered before. Two thumbs down Portillo's.

Please switch the bread back to Gonella . Can’t believe you switched the bread. My guess is it was a cost cutting move , however, it’s nowhere near as good

you’re Italian beef sandwiches have always been good for me with extra juice on them. I just wish that the beef was in smaller portions instead of one large 2.5 pound package. Offer a bundle with 3- 1 pound packages.

Sent as a birthday gift, arrived 2 days late. Supposed to arrive before recipient was away on weekend drill but didn’t. Poor quality by the time he received it. Reached out to company, filled out forms and never heard anything. The customer service was much better when I could order the sandwiches through Taste of Chicago and not directly through Portillos. This has always been a favorite so not the experience I had hoped for.

Arrived frozen and delicious! The beef was amazing. I was surprised to see the small rolls and would prefer the larger rolls for better sandwich preparation. Will definitely order again!

They are always happy to get the order. As former midwesterners, they miss Portillos.

Great. Order came on the day it was suppose to come. Everything included including instruction. The food was delicious and more than enough to feed everybody. Will definitely be doing it again.

Placed two orders. One was delivered to the house. The other was delivered to a FedEx drop for an unknown reason. Food was good, but the juice/gravy was very greasy. I have found that the greasy gravy is not uncommon. My last visit to the Scottsdale store was the same. I had them dip the sandwich and when I got it, it was mostly soaked in grease/oil and not very tasty.

Really disappointed this no longer includes two separate packs of beef and the gravy is no longer in its own bucket. Won't be buying this anymore as it looks like the cheapening out is continuing since Dick sold the company.

I have found the perfect gift for my son-in-law, who grew up with Portillos. He and my daughter adored the Italian Beef sandwiches so much, I think I will send them every year!

This is a great product but the second shipment that we have received with leaking gravy packets. Both times the bag was partially opened and damaged the rolls.

We ordering regularly and my family looks forward to it. I often give as a gift!

We love these beef sandwiches and missed them here on the island. It was a process getting them here; First shipment was stuck in California and delayed too long for us to eat. Portillos was great and sent us a second order in record time!! Delicious!!

We are huge fans of Portillos for years but I wanted to provide some constructive criticism of the latest shipment which some changes in the packaging and rolls. I don’t like that they are using half size rolls and that they have separate gravy but one large container for all the beef. These two changes definitely take something away from the sandwich experience and the defrosting process. Still great sandwiches but I don’t like these recent changes.

Please have beef split into two packages like before instead of one package like this year. Doesn’t allow you to freeze just half the order.
